This study examines the derivational suffix -ότητα in Modern Greek on the basis of 45 neologisms recorded in the Academy of Athens corpus DEON 16-17. The suffix forms abstract feminine nouns, primarily from adjectival bases, denoting properties, states or capacities, and shows strong combinability with other derivational suffixes (-ικ-, -ιμ-, -σιμ-, -τ-). It is also used to render foreign suffixes such as -ity, -ness and -ité. The neologisms belong to social, political, economic, scientific and technological domains, revealing both morphological flexibility and functional value. Comparison with competing suffixes (-οσύνη, -άδα, -ία) highlights the distinct behaviour of -ότητα in forming complex abstract concepts.
